PHINMA Education and New World Hotel: Partners in Training Future Hospitality Professionals September 13, 2022

New World Makati Hotel is a deluxe hotel right in the heart of Makati’s financial and commercial district. The hotel offers 580 rooms, 5 restaurants and bars, health and fitness, and meeting and banqueting facilities. It has since opened its doors to student interns, with hospitality and tourism seeing a recovery this year.

It recently accepted (16) 4th year interns from PHINMA Araullo University’s BS Tourism & Management program. While at New World, the interns trained in Food & Beverage, Front Office, Talent & Culture, and Finance for at least two months. During their training, a guest only had praises for Ms. Charlene Lajom, a 4th-year AU Tourism Management student. Ms. Lajom assisted as guests were evacuated during the recent earthquake on July 27, 2022.

PHINMA SJC’s College of Management and Accountancy (CMA)’s HTM program, on the other hand, will deploy 5 HTM students in October 2022. Their internship proper begins in November 2022.

Mr. Gilbert Gatdula, New World Hotel’s Talent Development Manager shared “Rosewood Hotel Group, the owning company of New World Makati Hotel is in the business of enriching the lives of its guests and associates. Additionally, the company endeavors to enrich the lives of hospitality students by providing them with experiential learning that they have not been accorded because of the pandemic.”
